Digital imaging, together with the access to high speed data networks, is revolutionizing the way that medical data is captured, recorded and used. Narragansett Imaging has made components for medical imaging for over 30 years beginning when our Plumbicon camera tubes were first used in X-ray cameras and continues today as digital imaging begins to overtake traditional electronic and film based imaging techniques and CCD-cameras play an ever increasing role.

Camera tubes still play a vital role in many of the most sophisticated imaging departments in healthcare facilities around the world. Narragansett Imaging is the only company still manufacturing Plumbicon camera tubes, which are used for both new equipment and as replacement tubes for the hundreds of x-ray imaging systems installed worldwide. Click on the link below to visit our Camera tube pages where you can view details of our Plumbicon, Saticon, Vidicon and Newvicon camera tubes as well as a cross-reference guide to find the most up-to-date replacement for camera tubes you can no longer obtain.

If you have any questions regarding Narragansett Imaging's tubes then please feel free to contact us at tubeinfo@nimaging.com. For Camera tube sales please contact Narragansett Imaging or one of our distributors.

The ease with which digital data can be stored and shared with multiple users is requiring many imaging applications to capture data directly in a digital format. This means that equipment ranging from multi-million dollar X-ray machines to laboratory microscopes are being fitted with digital cameras. These digital cameras allow, not only high resolution image capture but, on-line image processing, convenient (electronic) image storage and the ability to transmit images as data files so that they may be shared and recalled as necessary.

The following Narragansett Imaging cameras are currently being used in, or are suitable for, medical imaging. If you have a requirement for a camera with specifications that are not met in any of the cameras below then please select the Custom Development link below, contact Narragansett Imaging or your nearest representative.
