Electronic and intelligent imaging are becoming pervasive in modern manufacturing environments. The ability to monitor processes online twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and capture individual events lasting fractions of a second allows unprecedented quality control. This online monitoring means that expenditure on imaging and image processing capital equipment can be more than recouped by quickly identifying problems leading to increased manufactruing yields and reduced operating expenses.

Most machine vision environments require modest image resolutions (such as 1 megapixel) with full motion video (or higher) frame rates. Other applications such as web inspection require high resolution imaging to allow detailed analysis of large structures without the slow speeds associated with linescan cameras.

The following Narragansett Imaging cameras are currently being used in, or are suitable for, machine vision applications. If you have a requirement for a camera with specifications that are not met in any of the cameras below then please select the Custom Development link below, contact Narragansett Imaging or your nearest representative.

FTM1010. 1 megapixel, 15 frames per second, frame transfer CCD-camera with true 12 bit output. The FTM1010 come as two PCBs allowing maximum flexibility in mechanical design.

ITC1612. 2 megapixel, 15 frames per second, CCD-camera with true 12 bit output. Interline transfer image sensor makes the ITC1612 ideal for applications with movement in the scene. Color and monochrome versions available. CameraLink interface.

ITC1910. 2 megapixel - HDTV format, 15 frames per second, CCD-camera with true 12 bit output. Interline transfer image sensor makes the ITC1910 ideal for applications with movement in the scene. Color and monochrome versions available. CameraLink interface.

FFM3020. 6 megapixel, 3 frames per second full-frame CCD-camera with 35mm format sensor. This high resolution camera comes in three mechanical configurations for maximum flexibility in implementation.

FFM4027. 11 megapixel, 1 frame per second full-frame CCD-camera. This 35mm format camera has built-in anti-blooming features and a cameralink interface.

Custom Development. As well as the standard camera designs listed above, Narragansett Imaging also develops custom cameras with alternative sensor types, interfaces or mechanical dimensions.
